Alpha Moisture Systems
Alpha Moisture Systems manufacture a wide range of dewpoint meters and hygrometers for the measurement of trace moisture in gases and dry compressed air, encompassing an overall range from +20ºC to -110ºC dewpoint, ie 23,000 parts per million down to nearly 1 part per billion.
The dew-point instrumentation range of user friendly, microprocessor controlled dewpoint meters, hygrometers and dewpoint sampling systems have been designed to meet the most demanding requirements and needs expressed by the industry.
Our in-house capability to design and prototype enables us to manufacture bespoke equipment to customers requirements and specifications.
Our dew point instruments are built using quality components, to the highest standards and specifications, compliant with our quality system which is accredited to ISO 9001:2008. We can therefore offer all our products with a generous warranty, guaranteeing reliability and performance.

Auburn was organized in the late seventies as a contract research and development company to create novel measurement ideas. Numerous contracts were awarded and successfully completed for the following organizations: Oak Ridge National Laboratory; Atomic Energy of Canada LTD (AECL); the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), (primarily for nuclear reactor flooding experiments); NASA, to develop a flow meter to monitor liquid hydrogen and oxygen flow for the space shuttle during the launch phase (we received a patent for this technology); and many other research projects. We have received more than forty United States and foreign patents relating to the projects.
During those formative years, we also studied the physics of electrostatics, specifically; electrical charge transfer “the triboelectric effect”. We recognized a need for a new dust and particulate flow measurement technology for large industrial dust collectors and particulate flow in process operations. In the early 80s, we changed direction and focus to develop proprietary technology, conceived, manufactured, and marketed by Auburn.
This change of direction resulted in the development of the first electrostatic/triboelectric particulate detector for dust collector operations monitoring. In 1980, Auburn’s first TRIBO unit was installed in a Wheelabrator dust collector in Lynn MA, the first waste-to-energy incinerator in the United States. Our Triboflow and electrostatic/triboelectric products are now operating reliably to help manage air pollution and to help maintain uninterrupted process flow in manufacturing operations around the world.
